Dr. Hui Tian is a Partner at The Column Group. He is an accomplished biotechnology leader with more than two decades of experience in drug discovery and development across metabolic diseases, retinal diseases, and oncology. As a founding member of NGM Biopharmaceuticals and later Senior Vice President of Research, Dr. Tian led discovery efforts that resulted in the advancement of more than a dozen clinical candidates over a 14-year period. Prior to NGM, he held scientific leadership roles at Amgen and Tularik, where he directed research programs focused on metabolic disorders and orphan G protein-coupled receptors. Dr. Tian received his PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and completed his postdoctoral training at Harvard University.
